Nikon COOLPIX P100 Compact Digital Camera
Nikon COOLPIX P100 Firmware Update – The Nikon P100 follows an almost standard industrial script for Ultrazoom classes and is configured as a mini DSLR. The owner of the Nikon P90 will have trouble distinguishing both; The only difference external P100 from the previous model was the stereo microphone over the viewfinder and the record film button behind the camera. It has a composite body with several adhesive materials strategically positioned in the armrests and thumb areas. The ingredients, fitting, and finish are typical for the class and price point.
Nikon COOLPIX P100 Design, Features and Performance
Nikon Coolpix P100 also gained a reduced resolution to 10.3 megapixels (compared to the 12.1 megapixels in the P90) on a 1/2.3 inch (vs 1/2.33 inch) sensor that is slightly larger. Pixel fans are tempted to remove P100 because lower resolutions need to last longer; There are more on P100 than a bit more lens and a bit less resolution. A slightly larger Sensor is the new type of CMOS backside illumination (BSI), and P100 is the first Nikon Coolpix that combines that device. In general, BSI involves placing the light sensor for each pixel on the backside of all wafer sensors instead of the front side along with other circuits. Isolating sensors from the circuit is reported to improve sensor efficiency (signal to noise) due to fewer diffused light before reaching the image sensor. A Nikon EXPEED processing technology is also available.
Nikon COOLPIX P100 Screen
The P100 3.0-inch LCD Monitor has been upgraded to a 460,000-point composition and can be adjusted to five brightness levels. This can be articulated to around 160 degrees of motion along the horizontal axis when positioned away from the camera body. Occasionally, monitors are difficult to use in bright outdoor conditions for shooting or reviews depending on the location of the sun and the reflection. But the ability to move monitors helps minimize this opportunity. Coverage is about 97% for shooting and 100% for playback.
