Nikon COOLPIX P7100 Compact Digital Camera
Nikon COOLPIX P7100 Firmware Update – The Nikon P7100 will most likely appeal to fan photographers who may already have a DSLR and who are looking for something more portable. As such, it’s much more important to get the basics right and offer a more DSLR-like user experience.
Nikon COOLPIX P7100 Design, Features, and Performance
The P7100 is similar to its predecessor P7000. The body is still peppered with control points, and buttons and dials cover the top and back, making almost all the main shooting parameters accessible without the need to dive into the menu system. The most obvious addition to the P7100 is the folding rear LCD screen and the new front ‘sub’ command button, positioned just to the handrail’s right (when the camera is viewed from the front).
The P7100 is equipped with an optical viewfinder in addition to a 3-inch folding LCD. It also has sockets for external microphones and a flash hot shoe that allows the current Nikon Speedlight flashguns circuit to be installed with full i-TTL compatibility. The hot shoe’s right is the exposure mode button, and next to it, the P7100 on/off button, shutter-release, and collar-type zoom control. On the far right of the camera is the Fn button (formerly ‘Tv/Av’ on the Coolpix P7000), which can be customized to access a variety of different functions and a large exposure compensation dial. Just behind this is the topmost rear control button.
