Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Compact Digital Camera
Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Firmware Update – The P1000, 125x, 24mm to 3,000 mm (35mm equivalent) lens is an excellent technology. With this wide focus range, the camera covers almost all the situations you might encounter-from wide-angle terrestrial landscapes to moon craters. And, for macro object shots, the lens can focus on objects as close as 0.4 inches. At the same time, the lens focal range presents a series of challenges for shooting, which I will discuss later in this review.
Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Design, Features and Performance
The EVF on a Nikon Coolpix P1000 is excellent. It has a lot more resolution than the P900 (2.36 million Dots vs 921K Dots), and it feels brighter than ever. This is not as good as the EVF on the Nikon Z-series cameras-it feels quite digital and noisy in low light, but it’s been estimated, considering the image comes from a small sensor. I like that the Nikon engineers are pushing the EVF away from the camera body so that you won’t press your nose on the rear LCD.
Two physical controls enable zoom (which only works when there is an SD card attached): the lever that surrounds the shutter button and the lever on the left side of the camera body. The zoom “snap ” button is positioned adjacent to the last control and temporarily displays a wider angle with a framing help box so you can regain your subject if you lose sight in the viewfinder or on the LCD.
