It provides both command dials such as a rear DSLR to scroll quickly through selectable shutter speeds plus a four-way control pad with an ‘OK’ button in the middle to apply any changes to menu settings, where a special menu button is placed just below. While we want the control for direct access to the ISO option, we also get a special button to remove, rotate, and display the settings – again, what you’d expect to find in any compact camera. How to Updating the Camera Firmware

1. Create a new folder on your computer.

2. Download the Nikon COOLPIX P500 Firmware (F-P500-V11W.exe / F-P500-V11M.dmg) to the folder created in Step 1.
3. Extract the Firmware file (F-P500-V11W.exe / F-P500-V11M.dmg) containing “firmware.bin” (camera firmware) to a folder called “P500Update“.
4. Copy the file “firmware.bin” to the memory card that has been formatted in the Nikon COOLPIX P500.
5. Insert the memory card into the main slot on the Nikon COOLPIX P500 and turn on the camera.
6. Select the Firmware version in “SETUP MENU” and follow the instructions displayed on the Nikon COOLPIX P500 camera screen to complete the firmware update.
7. Turn off Nikon COOLPIX P500 camera and remove the memory card after the firmware update process is complete.

8. Confirm that the Nikon COOLPIX P500 camera firmware has been updated to the new version
