Nikon COOLPIX P610 Firmware Update – The Coolpix P610 has a 16.1 mp back-illuminated CMOS sensor and a 60x optical zoom lens, the equivalent of 35mm with 24-1440mm. Optical image stabilization helps reduce camera blur and shake, lenses have a minimum focusing distance of just 1cm for macro shots.
Nikon COOLPIX P610 Design, Features, and Performance
Nikon Coolpix P610 can be said to look like a small DSLR camera. It has a decent-sized rubber grip, with rubber patches on the back for your thumb and other rubber areas on the other side of the camera – all of which help the grip.
The P610 has a 3.0″ 921k dot vari-angle LCD screen and a 0.2″ 921k dot EVF. It also has built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, allowing us to use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control. we can also use the built-in GPS for geotag images. Images can be edited through playback using the retouch menu where there are multiple effects.
The mode button also includes regular PASM settings. P – a programmable auto – lets you change options such as ISO sensitivity and white balance, while the camera still retains control over shutter speed and aperture. You also need to switch to P settings if you want to take advantage of the P610 7fps continuous shooting mode for a 7-shot burst. The camera can shoot up to 120fps for 60 shots, but only at VGA resolution of 640×480.
The aperture and shutter priority modes on this camera can add more shooting controls but don’t expect the same level of aperture flexibility that DSLR settings can provide. The P610 lens only has a total aperture range of f/3.3 to f/8.2. Switching to full manual mode allows full shooting control, with the main command dial on the thumb backrest adjusting the shutter speed, while the steering knob rotates on the rear panel adjusting aperture. If we find the ideal shooting settings for a specific scenario, this can be saved to User Settings mode, accessed from the U position on the mode button.
